The Friends of the Roy R. Estle Memorial Library was organized in 1996.

How do Friends of the Library help

Raising money to purchase equipment and materials that aren't within the library's budget
Sponsoring informative programs
Representing the library in our community and county
Volunteering to do special library tasks
Keeping their representatives informed of the library's needs

What do Friends of the Library receive?

The satisfaction of participating in the library's continuing growth and improvement
Special recognition as an informed, involved patron
The opportunity to make an educational and political impact
The chance to work for community improvement and to enhance our quality of life

Some of the past projects have been:
a "garage" sale to raise funds for an flat file at the library
a silent auction to raise funds to expand the library's DVD collection
purchase of a new Christmas tree for the library
host monthly book discussion groups; (now done by the library staff)
provide refreshments for County Library Society meetings
help with summer programs and story times
help provide special activities during National Library week
Gift basket silent auction to raise funds to purchase a LCD projector
and much more.

There is an annual meeting for all members of the Friends in January of each year, and  members may be called on during the year for special projects. Consider joining the Friends of the library.  Membership forms are available at the library circulation desk
